Common faults we see on Rheem units

The most common call we get is simply no hot water, which can come down to a tripped element or thermostat on an electric storage unit, a failed pilot or ignition sequence on a gas unit, or a fault in the electronics on a continuous flow system. Pilot and ignition problems are regular on older gas storage units, particularly when a unit has sat unused or the gas supply has been interrupted. A leaking temperature and pressure relief (TPR) valve is another frequent job — sometimes a simple valve replacement, sometimes the valve doing its job and telling you tank pressure is building for a reason. Given how close most of the Redlands sits to the bay, we see plenty of tank corrosion from salt air on older steel storage units, where a tank that looks fine outside can be corroding from within. Continuous flow units can also throw error codes on their display, and what a code means varies by model, so we read it on site rather than guessing over the phone.
